Hooray! It’s finally here!! The Wordful Wednesday that you’ve all been waiting for!!!
Sorry. I know that’s a lot of exclamation marks to open a post with… but I’m excited! Today’s word is: daedal: finely or skillfully made; artistic
In other words…
Shutterbug Sis is is totally daedal…and she’s here! She stopped by to help us celebrate post #98, and to talk about and share some of her amazing photos.
Amb: Hi!!
Shutterbug Sis: Hi!
A: Thanks so much for coming by! I haven’t seen you since we watched the Olympics on the weekend; we missed our usual get together since there was no So You Think You Can Dance this week.
SS: I know, and a lot has happened in the meantime – Canada has won
threefour more Olympic medals!A: It’s so exciting! I’ve been watching even more TV than usual these days. So first things first: we’d better say Happy Birthday to Dad, in preparation for tomorrow.
Both: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINUS ONE DAY DAD! We’ll see you tomorrow night.
A: OK. Let’s get back to the pictures. On my old blog, your photo series from our family’s Big Fat Greek Vacation were some of my most popular posts. Would you mind picking out a few of your favourites, to share with everyone who wasn’t following along on the old blog?
SS: Sure!
A: Such amazing scenery. I especially love how you captured the sunlight on the ruins in Athens.
SS: Thanks. It was lucky how those ones turned out, since I didn’t bring any special lenses or equipment on that trip!
A: Here on the new blog, you’re best known from your pictures of your trip to Sri Lanka. You know Lill and Jill?
SS: Ya they’re funny!
A: They said you’re like the female Mike Holmes!!
SS: Haha thanks ladies.
A: Can you tell people a bit about that trip, before we get to the photo gallery?
SS: Definitely! I participated through TRIP Canada, which is a non-profit organization called the Tsunami Rebuilding Involvement Program. I collected sponsorships and travelled to a village in Sri Lanka with a group of people. We spent ten days there rebuilding and repairing a local school and temple. I’ve never worked so hard (or sweat so much) in my entire life, and I can’t wait to go back.
A: I’m so proud of you! Everyone, you can click on any one of the thumbnail pictures below to open up the full size photo gallery.
- Gone fishing!
- Once they hand-mixed, poured, and leveled the concrete floor…
- …the village school had a brand new classroom!
Amb: I love all of those, but the elephants might be my favourite… thanks again for coming by!
Shutterbug Sis: Thanks for having me!
Now tomorrow, my friends, is 100th Post-a-Palooza Eve! You had better believe that I have something fantastic planned for us… I’m so excited, I might swoon! (hint, hint). Come back tomorrow to join in the fun!

One of your (many) fine attributes is your willingness to share the spotlight and share credit. I see this repeatedly in your writing, amb, and it’s refreshing and lovely and fun. I say this over and over, I know, but will do so again: You’re amazing. And your sister is, too
Aww, Liz!! That’s so lovely to hear, I appreciate it so much. Thank you my friend!
