Wordful Wednesday for December 5th, 2012

Today’s word is deplanated: flattened, squished

In other words …

amb.

Oh, you guys.

This is why I haven’t been around lately. I’ve been deplanated.

I have a confession to make: despite all of my talk of imaginary boyfriends, I was actually, until very recently, in a long term relationship with a real life boyfriend who I loved very much.

Yes, the key part of that sentence is “recently”. Like, until about a week ago kind of recently.

It was totally sudden, and totally awful, and totally the right thing to do. I found out I was lied to about something very important, so he’s not my real life boyfriend anymore. Like I said … totally awful. And totally  right.

*amb takes a deep breath. Gets giant hugs from all her imaginary boyfriends*

It’s funny – songs and movies and all the other pop culture things I love would have you believe that the holidays are the worst time to break up with someone, but I’m actually finding it to be really …  helpful.

After all, I get to put twinkly lights all over the pocket-sized place, and listen to some of my favourite music, and talk about all of those things here with you! And that makes me really happy.

And this morning, when I woke up and started feeling like being here with all of you again, I knew I was going to be ok.

So I’m back. I may not be here every day between now and Christmas, but we’ll definitely be celebrating the season!

love amb

    • Love you back! Thanks so much for this – I have the biggest smile on my face right now because of you!!!

And you’re right, time will totally help. I know this because today is already better than yesterday, and yesterday was better than the day before :-)

  2. Boys suck!! Nuff said.
So go buy yourself a big ol bucked of Candy Cane Ice cream, get the big spoon, sit your ass in front of the tv this wknd and watch all the coolest Christmas movies!
Btw,,,red wine goes great with that ice cream, just saying.

Lots of hugs,,your a beautiful girl and you will find someone truly deserving of you in the new year, I just know it!

  3. Amb! I am sending BiG HUGS your way..I don’t want you to be flattened, squished. I wish I could swing by with a nice bottle of wine and we could drink it all! I know you will get through this more than ok, but I am sure with some bumps along the way! I am glad you are back, and that each day seems better than the one that came before it. I admire you – standing up for what you need, deserve! xoxo

    • Thank you so much Bonnie !!! I should have known you’d have some wonderful words of encouragement. Thanks for those, my friend, and for the BIG HUGS too! I am feeling the love. Will be toasting you with my ice cream and wine tonight xo.

  4. I used to find staying busy really hopeful. I’m still sorry to hear that though. And I strongly recommending watching movies he’d hate on repeat, starting with Pride and Prejudice, The Duchess, and maybe The Notebook.

Also, your sight looks really good! Way better than all that falling snow stuff!

    • That’s a great idea – you know how much I love P&P!

Plus, I’ve started recording all of those cheesy tv movies that air this time of year – you know, the ones with titles like “Love Under the Mistletoe” and “All She Wants for Christmas”. I sense a movie marathon coming up this weekend … thanks L&L :-)
