Other People’s Words

There are a whole lot of people in the world – cyber and otherwise – whose words, images, and ideas bring me inspiration.

Here’s a list. It’s by no means complete, so check back often to see who’s been added!

A Dash of Cinema: Lauren combines food and film in a delicious way…and takes gorgeous photos of her creations, too!

Childhood Relived: Angie didn’t judge my Dawson’s Creek obsession, and was my first ever guest author! I love her on several levels.

Cloudy With A Chance of Sarai: Word nerds unite! The world needs more people like Sarai.

Confederacy of Spinsters: I love these girls. Thanks to Lill and Jill for the introduction!

*NEW* The Dimwit Diary: Chris entertains thousands – literally. His blog is exploding, and I’m so happy to be along for the ride!

Domestic Diva, MD: Her stories are so entertaining, she almost makes me want to go to med school. Almost…

*NEW* Fannie Cranium’s Guide to Irreverent Wisdom:  Fannie is a fellow BoFN contributor, and my Old Hollywood soulmate.

*NEW* Food for Fun: Liz is another fellow BoFN contributor, a foodie, and a fantastic friend.

Lill and Jill: The funniest (virtual) roomates I know. I want to be friends with them. But not roomates….

*UPDATED* The Blog of Funny Names: My love for the BoFN boys – and one of them in particular – is well documented. Very well documented. Visit my “About” page for the whole story!

The Hairpin: Come for the insightful advice columns and thoughtful reviews, and stay for the fabulous stories of Hollywood scandal by Anne Helen Petersen.

The Middlest Sister: There are 5 sisters. She’s the middlest. And oh-so talented.

*NEW* Ned’s Blog: Don’t read this blog. You’ll just get jealous that you’re not as funny as Ned. Seriously. Don’t do it.

PaperKeeper: Bonnie’s blog is funny, and thoughtful, and has connected me with a fabulous group of bloggers I’m just thrilled to know. Plus, she thinks I have good taste in television shows.

Pyschobabble: Lyssa makes me laugh. Her blog is authentic and honest and have I mentioned she makes me laugh?

The Pioneer Woman: My very first blog crush. I love her to this day!

*NEW* The Return of the Modern Philosopher: Austin, or Doc, as I like to call him, can be hilarious, biting, and romantic by turns, but he’s always, always, a great read.

RavingMadScientists: I wish I could form a book club with these ladies. They’re madly intelligent and only rave in a good way.

Ruminations on Love & Lunchmeat For some reason, my Corporate World computer thinks this site constitutes a website filter violation. This cracks me the heck up…but I promise you it’s completely safe for work. Featuring recipes, poetry, and stories of friends and family.

Second Lunch: Hilarious, awesome, and hilariously awesome. Best explained through pictures:

From GetSecondLunch.com I heart you Tim!

My Shutterbug Sis: my little sister doesn’t blog, but she takes amazing photos, and lets me share them with all of you. You’ll see her work here often!

Surrounded By Imbeciles: I adore this blog for the name alone. Because, come on, who hasn’t felt that way from time to time?

Tryingtowriteit SJ posts honest and thought provoking pieces…and motivates me to do the same!

*NEW* What Do You Do For An Encore: Tirelessly travels through the wilderness of Youtube so that you don’t have to. Uncovers amazing music.

    • Haha, well, thanks for not running away in terror after my first blog-stalking email! I think we should make a “TV relived” post an annual tradition! Cheers :-)

  1. Aww, shucks… Thanks so much! You have quite a delightful site here yourself. :)
As far as books go, I’m nearly finished with The Great Gatsby but don’t have anything in particular lined up next. Any suggestions? :) ~Nikki

    • Thanks Nikki! So glad you’ve stopped by :-)
As far as books go, I’ve heard great things about The Paris Wife, but I haven’t had the chance to read it yet.

  2. Guess I need to explore your blog a bit more thoroughly as I hadn’t stumbled upon this page. :-o Thanks for the headsup and thanks for the fffun link :-) Woohoo–fantastic friend thing right back at ya’.

Your site summaries are great–just enough to tell me that I should click over and know a bit about what to expect. Am honored to be on this List :-)

      • we do know how to rock a blog party—lol.

Say, I see something above about Angie’s Childhood Relived guest post being an annual thing. Now wouldn’t that be fun :-) (my hint was subtle enough that I don’t have to say anything else to get my point across, yes?) ;-) ;-) ;-)

  3. Like Liz, I stumbled upon this page late. Thanks for adding me! It’s especially magnanimous given the wild accusations I was flinging around at the Urban Shocker post. Erk! [insert appropriate emoticon here]

    • You’re welcome!

As for your comments at the Urban Shocker post, I took them as compliments. If I come across as even half as articulate and charming as you say, then I must be doing something right :-)

I'd love to hear what you think!
