Wordful Wednesday for November 7th, 2012

You guys! I missed you yesterday!

I fully intended to post at the end of the day once I got home from Corporate World, but my “little after-dinner nap” got somewhat out of control. I woke up just in time to go to bed!

So today’s word is: somniferous: causing or inducing feelings of drowsy sleepiness

In other words …

It seems that daylight savings time, combined with cooler temperatures and cozy blankets, have a somniferous effect on certain pocket sized bloggers.

I’m off to get a cup (or two) of coffee. Have a great day everyone! And let me know if you have any luck using our word in conversation today!

  1. Omgosh…I could have totally used this word earlier this morning in conversation, and could have made SUCH an impression on a friend of mine. I am going to borrow this word from my favorite pocket sized blogger and use it first chance I get though! 🙂 xo

    • Teehee! If I had actually gotten up when my alarm went off this morning, you might have had it, too! Foiled by the snooze button 🙂

PS: so glad you stopped by Bon! I’ve missed your (virtual) smiling face! Hope you’re well.

      • Hi Amb…
I was thinking that if I had read your post before I saw my friend….
I am often foiled by the snooze button…sigh!
I have been a bit AWOL…I admit…a few things going on, but never far away! Missed you too! xo

  2. The same thing has happened to your up north blogging friend,,,for me I think it’s just the grey, grey days. At least today at last it’s a super sunny day 🙂

    • So glad to know I’m not the only one! And you’re absolutely right, the grey days definitely make me want to hit “snooze” more often 🙂

  3. I’m definitely gong to use this today. When I go get my coffee and the lady asks me how I am (which she always does) – I’m going to say ‘I’m feeling rather somniferous’ – I wonder what she’ll say to that? 😀

  4. end of daylight savings + storm-related week off + staying up late for election + leaving work early 2 days + working from home 2 days =
my sleep schedule never stood a chance

I'd love to hear what you think!
