Good morning! Welcome to Tuesday, and to another day of a blog post not turning out quite exactly the way I’d planned here on Words Become Superfluous.
My plan was to take some pictures of the fun things that showed up in my mailbox recently, congratulate myself on taking pictures in Shutterbug Sis’s absence, share the pictures here with you, and then call it a day and return to my couch, victorious, to catch up on episodes of a brand new Favourite Television Show You’ve Never Heard Of * .
But you’ll have to wait until later in the week for the pictures, I’m afraid, because I spent all the time I had set aside for writing today taking an online quiz instead.
I know. I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I ran out of time to watch my new Favourite Show, too. You guys, I haven’t gotten this flibbertigibbety over online content since the Much Ado About Nothing trailer came out!
So the reason you’re not looking at photos (or hearing the accompanying witty and charming story that goes with them)
this morning is because … I can’t possibly be witty and charming while geeking out over a John Williams movie score quiz!
John Williams is my favourite film music composer (yes, of course I have a favourite film music composer! Why, doesn’t everyone?) I’ve been known to hum the theme to Jurassic Park – loudly – in public . I’ve changed out of my pajama pants and gone to the symphony to hear his works played more than once. And I spent way too much time thinking about my answers to this quiz.
Click here to take the quiz and see if you can identify some of John Williams’ scores in Name That Tune style. I’ll be sharing my answers, along with some of my favourite John Williams movie moments, in a special edition of Wordful Wednesday here tomorrow. Have fun!
* It’s not like I do this on purpose. The shows just find me.
