Blog-iversary Countdown: Top Five Shutterbug Sis Posts

Good morning! And welcome to day two of our Blog-iversary Countdown. I’m so glad you could stop by, because Shutterbug Sis is here today … and she brought her photo album!

If you’ve visited me here before, then you already know that I love sharing the photos Shutterbug Sis takes on our family’s trips together. She’s awfully good with a camera (hence the nickname). But what you might not know is that she also captures amazing images from trips that she takes on her own. This time last year, Shutterbug Sis was in Sri Lanka with TRIP Canada. I’ll let her tell you all about it:

TRIP Canada is a non-profit organization called the Tsunami Rebuilding Involvement Program. I collected sponsorships and travelled to a village in Sri Lanka with a group of people. We spent ten days there rebuilding and repairing a local school and temple. I’ve never worked so hard (or sweat so much) in my entire life, and I can’t wait to go back.

How proud am I of my little sister?!? She did such amazing work while she was there! She asked if I would be including some of

her TRIP photos in today’s Top 5 List, and I said of course I would. It turns out that I should have thought a little more carefully before answering; it was way too hard to narrow the selection of TRIP photos down to just one slot! So my Shutterbug’s Sri Lanka photos are awarded two well-deserved spots on today’s Countdown.

Choosing between the rest of her photos was just as tough, but here’s my final list:

#5 Beach and rock temple photos, in “Snapshots from Sri Lanka, Volume 5”

#4 Thanksgiving 2012, in “Autumn on Lake Joseph”

#3 September 2012, in “How I Spent My Summer Vacation, Part Two”

#2 and #1 Our Big Fat Greek Vacation and Snapshots from Sri Lanka photo galleries, in “Wordful Wednesday for August 1st, Special 100th Post-a-Palooza Edition”

I could have let that list go on and on, but I think it’s actually kind of perfect that we’re closing with photos that were featured in a Wordful Wednesday post … because that’s the Top 5 List that we’re going to be tackling tomorrow. How is reader favourite “corybantic” going to stack up against my beloved “flibbergibbety?” You’ll have to come back tomorrow to find out!

In the meantime, you can browse all of Shutterbug Sis’s amazing photos by selecting “Shutterbug Sis” from the Category menu on the right. Have a photogenic Tuesday, everyone!

  1. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s word post πŸ™‚ And when you do put them together in dictionary form, I’m available as editor. We could barter services–my highly skilled editing talents (ha) for a “meal” of poutine when we finally meet up.

Fun to go back to before we met. You’re an energizer bunny (please tell me that reference works in Canada πŸ˜‰ ) as you go go go πŸ™‚ 5-for-5 on your above links and can’t think of a better way to start my day. Temps are good (40F, which looks to be 4 C–really?), so next step is an outdoor run. Thanks for starting me out with a smile. Hope your day goes well and you and friend both won big on the Wheel last night.

    • I know, I’m excited for tomorrow too! I like having a fun feature on Wednesdays, I find it really helps me get over that “midday week slump”. And I would absolutely love to take advantage of your highly skilled editing talents, if you’re available for bartering! We can most definitely work something out πŸ™‚

Energizer bunny totally works here in Canada! And I love hot pink too, so it’s actually perfect. So glad I could start your day off with a smile, my friend! Have a great run!

  2. What a wonderful journey through Shutterbug Sis’s photos. Thank you for making the compilation available to us late comers.

Thanks for the cheer and color. Looking forward to Wednesday’s countdown!

    • Fannie, it is my pleasure. I had a great time going through all of the photo archives, and I’m so pleased that you’re enjoying them too!

It’s raining here today (warmer, finally, but raining) so I thought a little cheer and colour was in order πŸ™‚

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, my friend!
