Holy (Blog-iversary) Bananas.

Holy bananas.

Words Become Superfluous is a year old today.

Welcome to my blog-iversary party!

Come on in! Grab a snack (I recommend the cupcakes) and make yourself at home. I hope you like what I’ve done with the place! Nothing says “party” like picking confetti out of your hair days after you’ve gone back home, is what I always say.

I’m so glad you’re here. I know I say this to you all the time, but I love you to pieces, I really do. This has been a wonderful week, and it just wouldn’t have been the same without you!

You’re all settled in? Great. Let me introduce you to one or two – or five – of my guests. What? You didn’t think the Top 5 Lists were finished, did you? I’ve saved the best for last! It is my pleasure to introduce you to the current Top 5 Commenters at Words Become Superfluous:

Bonnie, Dave, Deborah, Fannie and Liz

There’s no one to five ranking system for these Wonderfuls – we’re going strictly alphabetically here!

I wasn’t sure who was going to turn up here when I started going through my blog stats, but I have to tell you, I love how this list turned out. Some of us have been in each others’ lives for a long time and some of us are still getting acquainted, but that doesn’t matter; my world is brighter because these five people are in it!

Much love to them, and to you, too, for making this little corner of the internet part of your virtual home. It’s appreciated more than you know.

The truth is, for all of the exclamation marks and Imaginary Boyfriends, my life has changed a lot over the past year, and it hasn’t always been superfluously sunny. I started blogging because I talk too much; I kept blogging for the next 364 days because of the joy I got from talking to you.

Thank you so much for joining me on the Countdown this week, and on everything that came before that … and everything that’s yet to come, too!

You guys, I can’t wait for next year’s blog-iversary

… can you imagine how we’re going to top all of this?!?

love amb

    • Thank you! And hooray! I’m glad to hear you’ll be prepared with pics – we’ll definitely be needing them. Your post was the most popular one of the Countdown! πŸ˜€ xox.

      • PS: your favourite Steely Dan song just came on as I started replying to your comment: “are you reeling in the yeeeeeeeaaaaaaars …” How perfect is that?!?

  3. Thanks, amb. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! (Those extra exclamation points are for you πŸ˜‰ ) Am sure I gained Commenting ground this past week when you sent me to PRACTICALLY EVERY POST YOU’VE EVERY WRITTEN. haha. I enjoy my time at WBS and all those things you said about your top 5? Right back at ya’ πŸ™‚ I concur with Mimi that you are hard to pin down with one descriptor (though I think Dave was on to something with “chatty cherub”) but in the end you make folks smile and brighten the days of those who are lucky enough to cross your path.

And yes, I love what you’ve done with this place–confetti is always a nice touch. For sure here’s to another 365!!

    • Thanks Liz! For the congratulations AND the extra exclamation marks!! All are appreciated muchly.

Yes, this week was a good one for comments, for sure! It was all part of my plan, teehee … though I think you would have gotten a spot on the list regardless. Haven’t we had a fun few months? Doesn’t it feel like it’s been longer than that?!?

So glad you enjoy your time here, because you know I just love having you! I’m lucky to have crossed your path, as well. πŸ™‚

I think I’ll leave the confetti up all weekend …

    • Thank you Lady!!! I can’t tell you how great it’s been having you around to appreciate all of my Friends references πŸ™‚

Hey, you know what I’m very much looking forward to? Seeing you in less than one week! Wheee!

Speaking of which, I owe you an email. Will be coming your way tonight or tomorrow! MWAH.

    • Thanks Fannie! I thought ending with a party was a good idea too: I’m rocking out to Earth, Wind and Fire at my desk as we speak …

The confetti was my pleasure! Thank you for coming on board this week and before – it’s great to have you along for the ride!

      πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Jen! And thanks for stopping by the party! Lovely to have you, as always.

I have to admit I love the decorations too, I think everything’s better with confetti πŸ™‚
