An Announcement in Two Parts

Good morning, and welcome to what is soon to be a very exciting Tuesday! Why exciting, you may ask? Well let me tell you, end-of-week enthusiasts of mine, it’s not just because we’ve made it through Monday and are now only four more days away from the weekend. No, it’s because today we’re unveiling a brand new feature here at Words Become Superfluous!

If you’re a regular visitor, you may remember that we closed out last week with talk of superheroes and Sylvia Plath. I’ve been not all superheroes wear capescoming across lovely collections of words quite often lately, (thanks in no small part to a new friend of mine, who I’ll be introducing to you soon), and I’ve been thinking about the best way to share them with all of you. Here’s what I’ve come up with:

On Fridays I’m going to post some lovely collections of words here to share with you.

*amb sighs* I know, I know – we have to come up with something that sounds a little catchier than that. But we’re still four whole days away from the weekend! Give a girl a break, here!

So. This is a two part announcement, then. Part One, as I mentioned oh-so-eloquently above, is that Friday posts are now going to feature spiffy sounding quotes. Part Two is that I (clearly) need help figuring out what to call this feature. And that’s where you come in … Ta-da!!!

I know you’re all brilliant and can come up with something better than “Friday Quotes”. So send your ideas in here! The suggestion box will remain open until 11:59pm ET on Thursday, May 30th.ย A Superfluous Judging Panel (i.e. yours truly, and whoever she can find on Facebook who’s still awake at that time) will then review all of the suggestions and choose a winner. The lucky winner will be announced on Friday, May 31st in the calm, cool, and collected way that we usually do things around here.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

love amb

    • And smile I did! It’s grey and rainy here – this was just what I needed to start the morning! Thank you Mimi! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Muahaha! All part of my plan, Liz, all part of my plan …

Truthfully though, it’s usually because I have so much to say that I can’t squeeze it all into one post ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Good morning lovely…and happy um, well, Tuesday! Yes, one bit closer to Friday…the LAST day of the week…where we will get to the big reveal about words…hmm? ๐Ÿ™‚ I can hardly wait! I am going to email you the other article I mentioned a few days ago – I didn’t spend too much time with my computer over the long weekend! Hope your was perfect! xoxo Bon

    • Good morning to you too! You’re looking awfully lovely yourself, my friend.

You betcha we’re one bit closer to Friday … it’s going to be fun, and that’s all I’ll say for now ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to your email Bon!

Glad to hear you got a chance to unplug a bit this weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Hi Amb!

I just sent you the article to your blog email addy. Let me know what you think ๐Ÿ™‚

Tuesday is underway…I like this fast track to Friday!
        Cheers my friend,
        xox

  2. Well, I sent mine in, such as it is. But I also have a reject pile of the ones I didn’t send in:

    Words TGIF By!

    Light Fandango Friday

    Super Quute Quips ‘n Quotes!

    Phriday Phraseology!

    Phabulous Phriday Phrases!

    Friday Frazzle!

    . . .

It just keeps going on and on like that.

    • I’m just on my way home (you’ll hear about my night tomorrow) and haven’t checked the submission box yet, but I have to tell you, I kind of love Phriday Phraseology! I might be adding it to the list! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Don’t be intimidated, Liz! Just because diddy talks (almost) as much as I do doesn’t mean you can’t have a moment of brilliance or two ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • My actual submission was pretty darn lackluster, Liz. It was just thematically consistent. Kinda like choosing tan curtains because they match the upholstery and wallpaper. It doesn’t dazzle, but it just probably doesn’t clash.

  3. I’ve got nothing. Rob clearly has the creativity gene in the family, with his “Friday Feature” suggestion. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Right!? I’m still cracking up over that one. PS: I wouldn’t exactly put you and “nothing” in the same sentence. xo.

I'd love to hear what you think!
