Wordful Wednesday for March 5 2014

Good morning! How are you feeling this morning? Energized?? Excited?!? Ready to tackle the day?? Er … um …yeah. Me too.

*Cough. Shuffle. Cough*

So. Remember last Wednesday, when I was feeling productive and posting in multiple places at once? Er … um … yeah. Well today, my friends, is not like last Wednesday. I blame the weather. This relentless cold has gone from altering my fashion sense (I now plan entire outfits around how many sweaters I can fit underneath my sweater) to altering my actual personality.

Joey Tribianni

Totally understanding the wardrobe selection there, Joe.

If you visit here often then you know I’m an enthusiastic, high energy person. Most of the time, there’s a reason the exclamation mark is my favourite form of punctuation !!!

But not lately. Lately all I’ve been wanting is to be still under a pile of blankets. I want to sink into extra pillows and feel soft flannel sheets against my skin and enjoy giant extra hot soy vanilla lattes. Which brings us to today’s word. The weather has turned me from a fuzzy pink energizer bunny into a voluptuary: a person whose life is devoted to the pursuit and enjoyment of luxury and pleasure.

In other words …

All I want is my own private tropical island. Or my own private Starbucks barista crafting lattes in my kitchen. Is that really so much to ask ?!? If you could have anything brought directly to your doorstep right now, what would it be? Tell me all about it in the Comments!

love amb

  1. Oh, what a dangerous question you pose! 🙂 I can think of oh so many things…

When I grow up, I want to be a voluptuary too. Thank you Amb, for helping me find direction in life! 🙂 xoxo

    • Teeheehee. I’m afraid my pocket-sized stature means that “amb” and “voluptuous” aren’t quite considered in the same category 😉

Thank you! I just need a hit or two of sunshine and I’ll be back to my old self in no time!

  2. amb! You are so speaking my language and I totally hear you. You’re describing my last few months. All cold (and not just chilly, but bone-numbing three-seconds-to-frostbite cold) all the time bites. And it sucks so much fun and joy etc out of things. I was wearing black the other day and my oldest mentioned I looked like I was in mourning. And I responded that I was indeed mourning the loss of all joy, happiness, etc. Which was sort of said tongue-in-cheek, but also true as this winter has been a downer.

My pina colada pound cake falls neatly into your voluptuary plan. May I join you in your tropical fantasy world? Because reality is not working for me.

Thanks for being here to brighten my day 😀 still smiling thinking of how many sweaters you are wearing. Hope at least one of them is pink and/or sparkly.

    • Liz! I knew you’d know where I was coming from with this post! I hear you too, my friend! I’m totally in mourning for my memories of sunshine, which feel further and further away as this weather continues. Winter has been downer, for sure.

Please do! You and your pina colada cake are always welcome 😀 Thanks for stopping by even when things are so dark and cold on your end! Appreciate the visits always. For the record, there are no sparkles, but one of today’s sweaters is green and the other has butterflies on it. With ribbons. 😀

  3. Voluptuary, I love that word. Have no idea how I’ll employ it. I’ll have to poll the husband and the cats. 🙂

I used to call one of my cats voluptuous, but that’s because her curves were booming (the sides of the litterbox). 😉

  4. well, i will actually be living a voluptuary life very soon as i leave for my warm vacation doing nothing but nothing. at least now i know what to call myself.

    • You are on your warm tropical vacation as we speak! I hope you’re having a wonderful time and can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back!

  5. Girl, as usual, I hear you and fully understand. I’m going crazy here–I either want to be outside or in bed. None of this productive nonsense. Consider me a fellow voluptuary.

If I could have anything delivered to my door at this moment…? It would probably be two plane tickets to anywhere in the world where the sun is shining and it’s 80F. But a barista to craft gourmet coffee in my kitchen would be okay, too. 😉

Here’s hoping there’s some warm weather in our near future!

    • Considered, my friend. You and I need to get t-shirts made up, or something. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to get lots of time both outside and in bed! xoxoxox
