WoW Fridays: Oscar Wilde

Good morning! Oh, I’m so happy you’re here. I came across today’s quote during my recent girls’ weekend, and I’ve been looking forward to sharing it with you ever since!

Now, I could tell you that it came to my attention after a night of staying up late, talking and laughing about a million different things, and truly appreciating how lucky I am to have such amazing friends in my life.

But the truth is that I saw it in a car commercial.

Don’t worry – all of that talking and laughing and appreciating stuff is still true, I promise. I just didn’t talk, laugh, and appreciate quite enough wine to start spontaneously quoting Oscar Wilde.

be yourself. everyone else is already taken

But that doesn’t mean it’s not an awesome quote and the perfect way to end yet another crazy week around here, right?!? Enjoy your weekends all!

love amb

  1. perfect quote–love it. Doesn’t seem very car commercial-relevant, but of course that’s not the point. Anything can sell anything with the right marketing genius, yes? Have a wonderful weekend yourself!

    • Yes! I never would have thought that Oscar Wilde and Audis would go together, but apparently some marketing executive somewhere did! But I love the quote anyway, and I’m so glad that you did too!

  2. Wonderful concept in that quote! I love it. We try too hard to be what we think we are supposed to be. And, I love it that you saw it in a car commercial..and that a car commercial is using some level of being our best selves to sell cars! Think of the too often used alternative. Here’s to a happy weekend ahead for you! xoox

    • You know what Bon, you’re so right! I was thinking along more cynical lines, like, “using mass produced automobiles to promote individuality – riiiight” but there are definitely worse sentiments that could be pushed here. Thanks for making me see this in a new way! xoxoxoxo
