Under the Covers with Feist and Constantines

Good morning! Come on in; I know it’s a little crowded up there at the name of today’s post but there’s plenty of room under here for you, too.

I had such a good timeΒ  with our twitter-pated-ness and pop songs yesterday that I decided to continue the theme today. I went looking for covers of fun, fluffy duets about love and found something … different. I’ve had this song on repeat since I got home from Corporate World yesterday, and I still can’t decide if I like it or not. I love Feist and I love Constantines and I love the idea of independent Canadian musicians collaborating to put their own spin on an iconic love song, but I don’t love this tune. I don’t think. I don’t know. I need to listen to it again.

“Islands in the Stream” originally performed by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, covered here by Feist and Contstantines

What’s your first reaction to this song? Do you love it? Hate it? Need to listen to it again? Tell me all about it in the Comments!

love amb

  1. AMB!!! OMG!!!! One of my favorite songs ever! I love the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers version, and the Feist version is even better! I was so excited when I saw the title of this post!!

  2. ALSO, how did I forget this in my first comment, I finished the 5th (I think fifth…the second to last) Mortal Instruments book and OH MY WORD. It is so, so good. I love all the twists they put in, but omg Magnus and Alec. That just BREAKS my heart. I mean, sure, Alec shouldn’t have been entertaining taking away Magnus’ immortality. That’s definitely breakup material. But still, it breaks my heart. I’m super nervous there are going to be some major character deaths in the final book. I have a feeling it will happen…and I don’t like it.

  3. I’ve seriously had a medley of this song and “Let’s Go To The Mall” stuck in my head all day. It has been quite a day!

I'd love to hear what you think!
