My Life as a Movie Monday: Begin Again

Good morning! How were your (holiday, if you’re reading this in the US of A) weekends?

Mine was busy, but in a good way. After a fairly work-centric week last week, my phone started ringing off the hook with calls from MoonDoggy and Gidget, and all of the clam-bakes and beach-blanket-bingo parties of the whole entire summer suddenly seemed to be scheduled into one weekend.

I am pretty sure this is the universe’s way of reminding me that my life doesn’t have to be about Corporate World all the time, and I am pretty a-ok with this! (I am also pretty sure the universe thinks I should be sent back to live in 1959, and I am pretty a-ok with that, too. Moon Doggy thinks it would be far out).

And now it’s time to start a new week – and move on to a new movie reference. Er, sort of. Since last week was all about settling in to a new blogging schedule and starting a new routine, last week, my life as a movie was “Begin Again”

Begin Again movie poster

If you’re feeling a bit of deja vu right now, well, you have good reason to, since I’ve actually blogged about this movie before. Back when it was called “Can a Song Save Your Life?” and was screening at the Toronto International Film Festival. But I wanted to talk about it again today because  the (new) title is just too perfect for today’s blog post, and because it’s opening in theatres this Friday. So you can finally go see the movie yourselves, and then you can come back here and we can talk about it Even. More.

Seriously. Does anyone want to have a date with me on Friday? I love this movie, you guys, and I can’t wait to talk about it! Again.

But to tide us over until then, stories from my weekend and a brand-new word will be coming your way on Wednesday! Looking forward to it and hoping you are too,

love amb

  1. Duh, of course I want a date with you on Friday. And yes, I know that’s not quite what you had in mind. :), my neighbor just saw this last night and was telling me how much she loved and it and how. I. Must. Go. See. It. Now. She’s 83!
I think I will be seeing this movie. Happy Monday and happy week! Xo

    • Course it is. I want a date with you every Friday, so there. (And your neighbour can come too. She sounds like the bees knees). xoxoxox

  2. My weekend was glorious. It was lots of food, TV, and lounging – my three favorite things.

I think this movie looks so good! It’s gotten really good reviews. Plus, I’m pretty much on board for anything with Keira Knightley. I’ve been a big fan of her since the Pirates of the Caribbean days!

    • That does sound glorious! I’m so glad – you deserve it! The movie is adorable and super fun, much like yourself 🙂

    • Hello back Lucky, and I’ve missed you too! And no, of course it isn’t. We fully support movie-poster-based decisions around here 🙂

  3. I remember you talking about this during the festival! And I remember wanting to see it then. I still do! You know I’d come with you on Friday if I could. 🙂

    • EJ !!! I know you would! You, me, a killer soundtrack … *limerence* Such goodness !!!! (See what I did there ?!?) I heart you for your remembering and your willingness to travel across time(zones) and space for me 🙂

I'd love to hear what you think!
