Hey, Girl.

The stuff of blogging legend, and reason #742 why Dave is one of my favourite people.

Dave’s response to my challenge was to create some very special memes, and to post them in various places around WordPress. To pull off this stunt, he enlisted the casts of two of the best sitcoms ever –Β  “Friends” and “Community”- as well as my various Imaginary Boyfriends and the stars of some of my Favourite Television Shows You’ve Never Heard Of.

And the best part is, I was not expecting it at all. In fact, until the morning of June 22, 2013, I totally thought I had this friendly little competition in the bag. Not so, my friends. As my mom said that night when she heard about Dave’s devious plan,

“Oh, honey. You got played.”

Yup. Like a baby grand.

It was totally worth it though, as I’m now the proud owner of what is, in my humble and totally unbiased opinion of course, one of the best photo galleries in the blogsphere. Enjoy!

    • Thanks Fannie! You know I’m always up for a rematch, but our future doctor might be too busy next year to get up to shenanigans with me (pfft. As though the medical profession is hard, or something). So this might have been a one time only special event! We’ll see πŸ™‚

      • *amb bats her eyelashes* Tell Dave that, would you, and then maybe we can convince him to come back next year! *amb bats some more*

Seriously though, thank you very much. Coming from someone with your comedic writing chops, I take that as quite a compliment!

  2. good collection for sure. Must mean you’re feeling better? Thinking you can hit “send” on that draft in your email box any time πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to tomorrow’s WBS per usual!

What’s your fave picture? I’m partial to the ones he put up on wdydfae’s site just ’cause they’re so ridiculous. Chandler cracked me up, too. Dave definitely used brain power on this one. He went to a fair amount of trouble to line folks up–you for sure should feel flattered big time πŸ™‚

    • Ooh, thank you for the reminder! I have that sitting in my drafts folder and really need to get my act together. I’m on it πŸ˜€

I have so much trouble picking a favourite – I love them all for different reasons. But if I had to narrow it down … I love Troy and Britta because the writing captures their characters perfectly AND includes a couple of “Community” inside jokes … but on the other hand … I honestly can’t look directly at Ryan Gosling or Jeffery Donovan (the one on Fannie’s blog with the shades) because they are just. so. attractive. And knowing that Dave was behind the whole thing? Forget it. I melt into a puddle at my computer. Flattered doesn’t begin to cover it, my friend πŸ™‚

  3. Thanks! I thought I had seen all of those but I hadn’t, so double thanks!!

Dave’s makes it look so effortless that I don’t totally notice it right away, but when I go back over his stuff at more leisure I have to stand back and say, Whooaaaaaa. Serious, serious writing talent.

    • My pleasure.

Tell me about it. Why do you think I’ve already proposed (twice)? πŸ˜‰ But seriously, my darling Diddy, given everything you know about me, do you really think I’d let myself get (virtually) involved with someone who didn’t know his way around a sentence?!? I don’t swoon over just anybody, you know.

      • I’ll has to remember that. I mean have to remeber that. I meen remember that.

Yes, of course, of course, I know amb’s got the super exacting literary standards, fer sure, and it goes without saying, but there are degrees to these things. Some people can churn out a good sentence or two. And some people can make um pop out of a magic wand. Dave’s in the pop out of the magic wand category.

      • I know it! That’s what got me swooning over him in the first place, before I even really got to know the man. Once I found out how much we had in common, forget it! πŸ™‚

    • Hi!!! I was thinking about you this weekend – I owe you an email, my lovely! I miss you!!! (My mom does too. She says hi, by the way πŸ™‚ )

And yes, I agree, it is ALL kinds of AWESOME. I knew you’d like the friends ones, especially πŸ˜€ Joey and Phoebe are my favourite of that group, I think.

      • I know, I miss you too! Hi back to aunty B!
Sorry I haven’t been very present in the comments section lately…things have been very busy on this end with work and outside of work as well! I have stories for you that require an email or a chat! I actually tried emailing you the other day but when I typed in your name all that popped up was your rogers email for some reason (which is wierd b/c I had been sending to your superfluous account before!) and I wasn’t sure if that rogers one was even in use still!
So can you send me your most current email address or whichever one you check the most?

P.S Oh I totally loved the Friends ones! I also enjoyed Dexter and Castle!!

      • Ooh, stories, now I’m excited! Will send you my address tonight πŸ™‚

Yes, Nathan Fillion in his Captain Hammer shirt makes me giggle. A lot.

        I’m so mature.

  6. It’s nice to come revisit this album every now and then. One of my finer accomplishments, and totally worth the lack of sleep that went into preparing it πŸ™‚

    • I actually just revisited it the other day myself. I was having a bad day, and you (and Joel, and Nathan, and Michael, and …) totally helped lift me out of it! xo.

      • I’m glad that our powers could combine to make your life a bit better.

My one regret is that I couldn’t find a way to fit my Abed one in there. (I was indecisive about how to word it and then ran out of time) Maybe someday I’ll sneak it in somewhere when you least expect it… Oh… and Becky owes me one too, after she failed to follow through with the plans we’d hatched πŸ™‚

        I like being ominous… or do I?…
